Celebrating Spring
w/ Dina Amsterdam

~ yoga, friends, and rejuvination! ~
April 4th - 6th, 2008

All levels are Welcome

This will be a weekend of bliss and goodness - a real gift that you are giving yourself.

We will welcome in spring by celebrating the beauty without and the essence within. With deep sessions of yin yoga, breathing, mantra and meditation we will cultivate ease, spaciousness and rejuvenation. The yang yoga will awaken the fire of purification (agni) as well as our juiciness for life. The practice will be slow and clear so that we are present and kind with ourselves. Mostly we will relax into our essence so we can drink in the surrounding goodness of breathtaking land, delicious food, and old and new yoga friends. There will be plenty of free time to ride horses, hike, get massages, lay in the sun, or read by the fire ... and maybe even swim!!

About Dina

Dina Amsterdam

Dina Amsterdam began studying yoga in 1990 to pursue her own self-healing. She commenced teaching in 1994 and holds certifications from Kripalu (1994) and Rodney Yee (1998). She has, for the last decade, been a practitioner and teacher of Buddhist meditation and Yin yoga.  Dina's pursuits include a certification in Yoga Therapy, and she maintains a private practice in San Francisco. She did her graduate research in physiological psychology at the Stanford Center for Research in Disease Prevention and values an integrated approach of eastern and western modalities for optimal psycho-physiological and spiritual well-being. She is deeply grateful to her current teachers, Sarah Powers and Jennifer Welwood, for their continued love and guidance on the path of awakening.

Best Classic Yoga Teacher in San Francisco for 2007

—The San Francisco Magazine

"Dina skillfully guides people toward a richer inhabitation of the emotional life . . . while leading them toward the potent art of meditative awareness."

- Sarah Powers

"Dina listens to her body more accurately and sensitively than almost anyone I know. This connection, combined with her great communication skills, makes her a phenomenal talent in the world of yoga. I give Dina my highest recommendation to anyone looking for a yoga teacher."

—Rodney Yee

In her public yoga classes, Dina weaves together mindfulness, alignment, strength and softness in a slow paced flow practice. She guides students in a rhythm that allows them to move in harmony with their breath and to discover the obstacles/ opportunities that are waiting to meet. Her teaching blends together the Hatha yoga traditions of yin, Iyengar, vinyasa, and restorative yoga with the wisdom of the Buddhist path and invites students to cultivate a courageous and kind presence of wakefulness within themselves on and off the mat.
