Bring Your Dog and Your Horse
Bring Your Dog To say we're "pet-friendly" is an understatement. Animals are part of the family at Highland Ranch and we're delighted to welcome your well behaved dog and there is no additional charge under normal circumstances. While the health department won't let us have animals in the Main House, you are welcome to bring your pet in your cabin. We'll provide you with treats and some towels and blankets so you can dry them off and give them a place to rest after a full day enjoying country life. (If you and "Fido" really make a mess of the cabin and the furniture, we do charge a $35.00 "deep cleaning fee".) Louise, Molly, and Chrome, the ranch dogs, always welcome new arrivals and quickly show them all the best places to nap at the Ranch.
Bring Your Horse We have wonderful horses suitable for riders of all experience levels here at the Ranch. However, you may have your own mount that you just can't bear to part with during your visit. For Highland Ranch clinics and other special events, guest horses are welcome at no additional charge. However, there are a couple of important points to consider if you are thinking of bringing your horse to Highland Ranch for vacation trail riding: 1. For safety reasons, it is generally not appropriate for us to allow guest horses to ride our trails with other guests on our horses. 2. It is also not safe for us to allow guests of any level of riding experience go out alone on our trails without a Highland Ranch wrangler/guide. So, what does this mean? If there are not too many other guests interested in riding for that session, then you may ride your horse with a Highland Ranch guide at no additional charge. If there are enough additional guests interested in riding , then you will be charge a "private ride fee" of $125.00 in order to hire an additional wrangler to lead your private ride with your horse. For this reason, off-season midweek dates are most appropriate for guest horses at Highland Ranch as the ranch is less busy and an additional wrangler is less likely to be required. Please call and check with us for the best possible and most appropriate dates and we will do our best to give you a good idea of when to bring your horse. Once your horse is here, our facilities include:
We'll be happy to let you feed them our hay or you can bring your own feed if you would prefer. |
