In planning your event or visit with us, you will find that we are flexible, friendly and efficient and we'll help you with your preparations using our event planning expertise that comes from experience.

We would be happy to cater your affair or to work closely with a caterer of your choice. We have much of the catering equipment and supplies for up to 150 people right here at Highland Ranch that you would normally rent. Whether you are planning on a large number of people or a smaller gathering, we can accommodate your group. We have an indoor space that can accommodate as many as fifty people and there are several lovely outdoor settings that are ideal for wedding ceremonies and suitable for a marquee.

We encourage guests to simplify the organizational process and to control their expenses as much as possible by making their own arrangements for rentals, the ceremony, music and flowers. Also, we encourage you to choose and buy your own wine/beer and liquor and we charge a minimal corkage fee.

Highland Ranch Wedding Terms and Conditions

Except for very small affairs, weddings at Highland Ranch (HR) are almost always “exclusive use” events offering complete privacy with no other guests present. "Exclusise use" requires booking the entire ranch for your occasion for a minimum of 16 adults for a two night minimum.

  • A deposit of $4,720.00 is required to book HR for “exclusive use”. This deposit may be used to cover any other wedding related expenses you incur at Highland Ranch. It is fully refundable (less a 5% processing fee) upon cancellation at least 90 days in advance. Cancellations occurring at least 14 days in advance (but less than 90 days), may be credited against a future visit(s) at prevailing rates. Deposits are non-refundable if cancellation occurs less than 14 days of scheduled arrival date. If the 16 adult guest for two nights minimum is not met, the difference in lodging fees will be the responsibility of the client and will be added to the final statement
  • A wedding site fee of $2,500.00 is required and 50% is payable one month prior to the event. The balance will be paid with the final statement and this fee is subject to the same applicable terms as the deposit.
  • We assume that your guests may not have the time or be interested in horseback riding during your festive weekend.  We therefore offer special event nightly accommodation rates of $210.00/adult and $125/child plus taxes and the 15% service charge.  This rate will include lodging, all meals, beverages, wine, cocktails, use of all facilities and equipment for guests staying on-site.  Trail riding is still available for both on-site and off-site guests at an à la carte rate of $75.00 per ride. To include trail riding, the rates are $265.50/adult and $180/child.

  • Special events (reception, rehearsal dinner, etc.) are charged per plate for guests not staying on site and will include applicable taxes and the 15% service charge. A “meal charge” will be deducted from the per plate charge for all HR guests. We have an excellent chef at Highland Ranch and we encourage you to visit our "menu and meals" page and see for yourself.  However, you may have a favorite chef and outside caterers are welcome at HR and ranch kitchen staff will support your organization as necessary and we will add a “cleaning fee” to your caterers per person plate charge.

  • HR has the ability to bring all your guests together to enjoy the ranch and its activities.  Off-site guests are charged a “day use fee” which can range from $50 to $65 depending on what meals and refreshments you wish HR to provide.
  • Wedding insurance is neither required nor provided. However, the client is responsible for any damages to equipment, property, buildings and/or furnishings whose total repair or replacement costs exceed $500.00.
  • The balance (either paid by guests for accommodations or from the wedding party itself) is payable after the event prior to departure.

Some Ideas for HR Wedding Weekend Special Events

  • Picnic lunch out by the lake or another spot of your choice
  • “Day of" spa treatments and massages at HR for the wedding party, etc.
  • Pick-up softball game/horseshoe tournament, group hike to valley view and HR refreshments
  • Anderson Valley winery tours by chauffeured shuttle
  • Private wine tasting from your favorite AV winery at Highland Ranch
  • Barn dance rehearsal dinner out by the barn (genuine “horsey” smells included!)
  • Outdoor Bar-B-Q dinner with country band/music, gingham tablecloths and the works
  • Live music/DJ out on the deck by the fire with s’mores, hot chocolate, etc.
  • Bagels and lox and champagne brunch the following morning
